Hyperbaric Medicine

Our Hyperbaric Program is located at Jacobi Medical Center, an important New York City Level One Trauma Center and Burn Unit. Our hyperbaric physicians work closely with Jacobi’s burn specialists to provide state of the art care to victims with smoke inhalation injuries as well as wound care.

Since 1983 Jacobi has treated more than 3,000 patients with carbon monoxide poisoning, more than any other hospital in the United States. Jacobi is the New York City referral center for the Diver’s Alert Network and provides emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for scuba divers with decompression sickness.

Jacobi Medical Center has the only walk-in hyperbaric chamber in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut) and can accommodate up to nine patients at one time.

All of our hyperbaric physicians are board certified in Emergency Medicine and have received specialty training in Hyperbaric Medicine. Our physicians have academic appointments at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and are at the forefront of clinical research involving Hyperbaric Medicine.
